A New York man has died after taking a timber farm over by storm, authorities said.
An employee at the site near the town of North Bergen, New York, told authorities that a worker on the timber harvesting rig fell from the rigging and hit the ground, according to the New York State Police.
He died on the scene.
The worker was wearing a life jacket, a life vest and protective clothing, the police said in a statement.
The incident happened on June 14, the same day a tree fell on a neighboring farm.
The state’s Forestry Department said it has closed two sites to loggers, but has not said when it will reopen them.
