How to stop logging on the Grand Canyon: How to help protect the area’s natural wonders

WASHINGTON (AP) The Obama administration says it will review a federal ban on logging on Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona’s southeastern Arizona, where timber has been harvesting for years.

The Forest Service is reviewing its decision on whether to allow logging on one of the nation’s most remote, popular areas.

A federal judge in January struck down the ban in a lawsuit brought by two conservation groups, the Grand Mesa-based Wilderness Society and the Navajo Nation.
