A tree that fell on a construction crew on the timber creek at the edge of a rural Alabama forest has damaged a nearby power transmission line, the state Department of Transportation said.
The tree fell on the road near the site of a construction project on the edge and caused the tree to break and fall.
It is not clear when it was likely to reach the power line, according to state transportation.
The power line is connected to an older line.
The department said the damage occurred on Wednesday morning at about 8:45 a.m.
The Alabama Department of Natural Resources and Forestry said it is investigating the cause of the incident.
